The fitness programs, workouts, and information provided by Intara Space Limited are for educational and informational purposes only and are not intended as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

You should consult with your physician or other qualified healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program, particularly if you:

  • Have experienced recent pregnancy loss (within the last 6 weeks)

  • Are in the early postpartum period (within 6 weeks of delivery)

  • Have any pre-existing medical conditions

  • Have any condition your healthcare provider has told you requires rest

  • Are taking any medications

  • Have any concerns about your ability to exercise safely

You should also seek medical advice before exercising if you are experiencing:

  • Leaking urine or feces, or needing to rush to get to the toilet on time

  • A feeling of heaviness, dragging, bulging, or pressure in your pelvic floor area

  • Separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) which gives a sense of weakness in your core

  • Pain in your lower back or pelvis

  • Any unhealed surgical incision or wound

Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or seen in our programs.

Medical Clearance Required

If a healthcare professional has advised you not to exercise following pregnancy loss, surgery, giving birth or any other medical event, you must wait until they have given you clearance to begin exercising.

Contraindications & When Not to Exercise

Do NOT exercise if you currently have:

  • Been told not to exercise by a healthcare professional

  • A catheter in place (do not do pelvic floor exercises with a catheter in situ)

  • Active infection, illness or fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher

When to Stop Exercising Immediately

Stop exercising and seek medical attention if you experience:

  • Very heavy bleeding - soaking through more than one pad in an hour or passing large blood clots. 

  • Sharp or severe pain anywhere in your body

  • Dizziness, chest pain, or difficulty breathing

  • Red/swollen leg (DVT warning)

  • Severe headaches affecting vision

  • Feeling generally unwell

If you are concerned about any symptoms, or they do not go away, contact your GP or call NHS 111 (or your local healthcare line).

Mental Health & Emotional Support

The emotional health support, resources, and content provided by Intara Space Limited, including any contributions from psychotherapists, are for educational and general wellness purposes only. This is NOT therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.

You should talk to your GP urgently if you are experiencing:

  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm ideation

  • Severe depression or anxiety that interferes with daily functioning

  • Panic attacks

  • Recurrent Intrusive thoughts

  • Trauma or PTSD symptoms related to pregnancy loss, birth, or other experiences

  • Complicated grief that feels overwhelming or unmanageable

  • Severe nightmares

  • If you are struggling to bond with your baby or you feel unable to provide care

  • Eating disorders or disordered eating patterns

  • Substance abuse or addiction

  • Psychosis or dissociation from reality

  • Severe mood swings or emotional dysregulation

  • Obsessive or compulsive behaviors that disrupt your life

  • Relationship or family crises requiring professional intervention

  • Any other mental health condition requiring diagnosis or treatment

Your GP can refer you to NHS health services for additional support.

If you are in immediate crisis, experiencing thoughts of suicide or do not feel that you can keep yourself or someone else safe please contact:
